Detectors for perimeter protection
The role of perimeter detectors is to detect an intruder’s attempt to enter a protected area, so this type of sensor is often referred to as the first line of defense. In this category, the most common type is magnetic contact detectors that respond to the opening of doors and Windows, otherwise called reed switches.
Magnetic detector
Due to various installation requirements, working conditions and aesthetics, SATEL offers a wide range of detectors – from miniature devices that can be installed directly in a door or window frame to large sensors equipped with a sealed, strong metal housing that is resistant, for example, to being hit by a car. In this group of products, you can find both detectors that can connect wires using terminal blocks, and models that require direct soldering. Additionally, detectors are also available in a color scheme that is close to the elements of wooden structures, so that they are almost invisible after installation.

Acoustic glass break detectors
Acoustic glass break detectors
Their purpose is to detect the typical sound of broken glass, making them ideal for protecting rooms with glass surfaces. A single detector can protect a room with a large number of Windows.SATEL’s glass break detectors use two-frequency microprocessor analysis technology, which makes them resistant to standard noise sources that negatively affect the operation of simpler sensors.
Vibration detectors
They are designed to detect attempts to overcome mechanical means of protection by force. Thanks to their design, they are able to detect a break-in attempt even before the attacker can enter the protected area. SATEL vibration detectors use piezoelectric sensors with digital signal processing, which ensures the stability of their parameters and resistance to standard sources of false alarms.
vibration detectors active infrared barriers
Active infrared barriers
These devices are among the most functional perimeter protection detectors. To detect intrusion, they use infrared rays that are constantly sent from the transmitter to the receiver. Due to the long distance between the transmitter and receiver, active infrared detectors can reliably protect even large rooms. In the case of SATEL detectors the appropriate protection against the adverse effects of atmospheric conditions allows them to be installed outside the premises to detect an intruder’s attempt to enter the protected area
Volumetric security detectors for indoor use
Devices of this group are designed to detect an attacker located in a protected area inside the premises. The most common devices in this group are motion sensors, available in various versions and variants. To detect the motion detectors of the alarm system can use a variety of physical processes. In practice, however, most often you can find passive infrared detectors and combined microwave detectors that use the Doppler effect (so-called combined detectors).
Passive infrared detectors (pic)
They use infrared radiation generated by each object with a temperature other than absolute zero. Their design uses a special semiconductor sensor, which in combination with the corresponding optical system reacts to changes in infrared radiation relative to the background temperature.
Due to the appropriate analysis of such a signal, passive infrared detectors can detect a person moving in their area of action. The popularity of IR detectors is the result of their reliability and ease of use. In security alarm systems, they are used more often than all other types of sensors.
The reliability and security provided by the infrared detectors depends on many factors such as: quality of components used, optical system design, mechanical sensor, and method of analysis of the signal from the sensor.
SATEL motion sensors are devices with digital signal conversion. Even the AMBER detector, the simplest model in this group, is equipped with a microprocessor that analyzes the signal. Compared to analog technology, the digital solution is much more reliable. The difference between the individual models is the optical system used.Flat Fresnel lenses made of plastic provide easy modification of the detector performance by replacing them. The system with a mirror, in turn, offers a more complete coverage of the protected area with detection zones.
The proposed models also differ in the applied algorithm. The first-generation digital algorithm used in AMBER detectors and the AQUA family is ideal for basic applications, while the advanced algorithm used in GRAPHITE and IVORY detectors ensures stable operation even in difficult conditions.
Combined detectors
Combined detectors are a combination of several detection techniques in a single device. The most common passive IR detectors, combined with a microwave channel, allow you to detect an attacker using independent physical processes, ensuring reliability in the most severe conditions. For this reason, they are often chosen to protect areas where drafts or sudden temperature changes may occur (for example, garages, unheated hangars or warehouses).
COBALT detectors are a line of digital combined detectors with basic functionality, the design of which uses the first-generation detection algorithm. If efficiency is a priority, the SILVER detector provides excellent results . Its unique feature is the ability to detect a masked intruder, so it can provide better protection compared to standard IR detectors. The SILVER detector’s advantages are confirmed by a certificate, which indicates that the requirements of the European standard in the field of combined detectors EN50131-2-4: 2008 for devices of the protection class Grade 2 are met. This means that in accordance with the current European regulations, the SILVER detector can be used even in banking facilities where the highest security standards are required.
Other types of detectors in the security alarm system
Modern security alarm system provides not only detection of hacking attempts. SATEL systems are perfect for detecting threats that can adversely affect our health, as well as cause material damage. To get such an extended system, it is necessary to equip it with additional detectors that will provide multi-sided protection.

Gas detectors
The role of gas detectors is to detect and warn of the presence of substances that may pose a threat to life or health. In this group of devices, you can find sensors that detect dangerous carbon monoxide (carbon monoxide), which can be released in the premises during the combustion process in case of insufficient oxygen access. Due to the highly toxic effect of carbon monoxide and the absence of its smell, this gas creates a very great danger to all people in the room. The same high risk is created by the leakage of explosive gases, such as natural gas, widely used in households, or propane-butane gas, used both at home and as an alternative fuel for cars. SATEL’s DG series gas detectors are the ideal solution for warning of these substances. Additionally, the detector of sleeping gases can protect against hacking attempts using substances formed on the basis of chloroform.
Flood detector
Flooding of an apartment caused by a faulty water supply can lead to significant financial losses. Therefore, it is worth considering the possibility of using the appropriate sensor, which can not only warn about water leakage, but also, in the case of more complex systems, and enable emergency shutdown of the water supply by means of an electrically operated valve.
The FD-1 flood detectors offered by SATEL are ideal for this type of application, and thanks to an external probe that connects with an elastic cable, they can be used even in hard-to-reach places.
Smoke and heat detector
The occurrence of fire is a very serious threat, so you should think about replenishing the alarm system of detectors, which detects even the minimum amount of smoke that is released at an early stage of the fire. The TSD-1 detector combines an optical smoke sensor with a precision heat sensor to ensure timely detection of a developing fire. In combination with the reliable communication available in modern receiving and control devices, this additional protection allows you to quickly call for help and avoid significant losses.
